Resolution Mediation

Here is an example of a one day course on human resource conflict resolution .  Is this a long enough term – one day ?

While it can be said that the lessons of a lifetime start with small steps and the prepared presenentations of experts – that is written , practiced and polished carry great abilties to learn and instruct it is doubtful that a one day session can make a human resources h.r. department employee into an expert.  On top of that imagine the lack of effieiency and effectiveness overall for the time taken off of departmental load for a one day conference to Toronto Canada to attend this event – including company time , travel time and expense.

The Human Resource Professionals Association is offering a one-day workshop to introduce HR generalists to conflict management processes, principles and practices, and their application to the workplace. The course covers a wide variety of dispute resolution techniques such as workplace mediation, neutral evaluation, relationship by objective programs, the Ombuds model, workplace rehabilitation and neutral fact finding. Rick Russell of Agree Dispute Resolution, former Ombuds at McMaster University is the presenter. The workshop takes place on HRPA Education Centre on May 12, 2009. (HPRA Events Info.)
